Two Indian Lake football players were recognized for their excellence on the gridiron this past season as Joey Davidson and Connor Davis each earned AP Ohio Div. IV second-team honors this past week.

Both Davidson and Davis are seniors who helped lead the Lakers to an 8-2 regular season, a perfect 5-0 in CBC Mad River Division play and the hardware that goes with championship, and the school’s first-ever appearance in the OHSAA football playoffs.

Davidson is a 6’0”, 205-pound linebacker who led the 12-team Central Buckeye Conference in tackles with 108. He also picked off three passes, caused two fumbles, and accounted for 4.5 sacks during the course of the regular season. Davidson was the the anchor of the Laker defense which allowed just over 11 points per game, posted three shutouts and came within a field goal of pitching a fourth.

Davis, a 5’10”, 170-pound senior, was perfect on all 32 of his extra-point kicks and was 11-of-12 on field goal attempts for Indian Lake, scoring a total of 64 points with his right foot.
