The Calvary Christian varsity soccer team defeated Fairlawn High School 3-2 to improve their record to 5-0-0. The Spartans dominated the first half proceedings and entered halftime with a 2-0 lead thanks to an assisted goal from Maddie McGillis to Tyler Reinhard and a penalty kick goal from Alex McGillis. The second half played differently as Calvary was stuck on the back foot as they dealt with Fairlawn attacks. Fairlawn was able to equalize through a couple set piece goals and the game was tied with 5 minutes to play. Both teams had chances to take the lead but it was a CCS free kick from midfield that senior centerback Dan Salmonowicz put into the box that was finished by left back Andrew Reinhard. The goal was virtually the last kick of the game as it was scored with 30 seconds to play.
