Tigers snatch a win from Pirates

The Riverside boys golf team fell to Jackson Center by a single stroke, 187-188, in a non-league match hosted by the Tigers at Shelby Oaks in Sidney Aug. 18.

Trey Lake paced the Pirate effort by carding a 45. Tyler Sanford closed with a 46 and Landon Kelsey shot 47 for coach Andy Phelps. Ross Stevens and Ty England rounded out the scoring for Riverside with a 50 and 58, respectively.

Jackson Center’s Bryce and Drew Sosby tied for medalist honors as they each shot a 44 for the nine-hole outing.

Riverside will be on the road again on Thursday, Aug. 20 with a match against Emmanuel Christian at the Springfield Elks Golf Course.
