WEST LIBERTY – Jamie Peterson scored 16 points and West Liberty-Salem held Indian Lake to just seven first-half points in a 59-24 win over the visiting Lakers in non-league girls basketball action on Monday.

The win propels the Tigers to a 10-2 record while the Lakers fall to 1-12 on the season.

West Liberty-Salem exploded for 20 second-quarter points to take a 26-point lead into the locker room. Lily Yoder hit two three-pointers early in the third to remove all doubt, allowing the Tigers to cruise after that to the 35-point win.

Yoder hit all three of the Tigers’ long-distance shots and finished with 13 points. Taylor Lauck also broke into double digits in scoring for the hosts with 10 points. West Liberty-Salem also made good use of the foul line, netting 10-of-13 attempts, while committing only 11 total fouls in the game and never letting the Lakers reach the bonus.

Caylee Wurster led the Laker attack with 12 points and two treys. Morgan Evilsizor had six points and Katelyn Hogan and Kelson Stidam each hit a three-pointer in the loss.
