LEWISTOWN – Indian Lake had trouble overcoming the Northwestern press as the visiting Warriors opened a 34-12 halftime lead, then cruised to a 53-27 win over the Lakers in a girls CBC Mad River Division basketball game Dec. 19.
The Lakers are now 1-9 on the season and fall to 1-3 in the MRD. Northwestern has a perfect 4-0 league record and improves to 8-2 overall with the win.
The Warriors limited the Lakers to just six points in each of the first two quarters, while Northwestern’s Abby Zerkle had 12 points of her own in the first period alone, hitting a trey and all five of her foul shots in the period. She ended the game with 16 points. Jenna Robbins also scored 11 points for the Warriors.
Caylee Wurster had 15 points for the Lakers, Morgan Evilsizor scored eight points, including going a perfect 4-for-4 from the line, and Katelyn Hogan had four points.
The Lakers visit winless Bellefontaine in a CBC-crossover game Monday, Dec. 21.
