LEWISTOWN – McDonald’s recently awarded grant money to a trio of Indian Lake teachers. Art teacher Rebecca Dotson and science teacher Jana Core at Indian Lake Middle School received a MAC, or Make Activities Count, grant for $500. Elementary School art teacher Terry Nelson was also awarded a $500 grant.

Dotson is using her grant money to pay for clay and supplies. Students in grades five through eight will use the clay to create cross-cultural projects, such as Mexican suns, throughout the year.

Core plans to use the grant for various science related supplies in the seventh grade.

Nelson will use her award money in the spring. She plans for elementary students to create colorful sculptures to be placed in the courtyard outside the elementary Media Center.
