Hilliker YMCA Flag Football wraps up final game at AcuSport Stadium

Participation in the Hilliker YMCA’s flag football program is up 28 percent this year, with 51 children in grades K-5 playing the sport. Participants are from all four Logan County school districts. While practices and games are held at the Hilliker YMCA twice a week, the final game is somewhere offsite under the lights, thus its name,”Under the Lights.” This provides a realistic, exciting Friday Night Football experience for the kids to simulate high school football. In the past, “Under the Lights” has been played at Mary Rutan Park. This year’s game was played Oct. 4 at AcuSport Stadium for an even more realistic experience. Wellness & Program Director Katey Headley commented, “The kids had a great time playing on a real field and putting skills they learned in practice to work on the field. Thank Bellefontaine High School for the use of their field and all of the team coaches.”
