Students enact mock trial at Supreme Court

Indian Lake 8th graders, from left, Dylan Cooley, Sierra DeWeese, Regan Ross, Evelyn Young, Colby Borgerding and Aden West take part in a mock trial. Indian Lake Middle School 8th graders continued their study of state government with a tour of the Ohio Supreme Court. The field trip was made possible by a transportation grant from the Ohio Supreme Court. Students toured the historic building and took part in a mock trial, portraying attorneys, judges, witnesses and jury members. The content of the field trip is in line with grade level social studies standards and added another layer of education to the field trip the class took to the Ohio State House earlier in the school year.
