The Indian Lake High School facility will turn 50 years old this winter. The original building was completed in late 1968. Students moved in over Christmas break and began classes in January 1969. It’s a milestone the school wants to celebrate with the community, and so will host a Senior Citizens Appreciation Breakfast on Friday, Jan. 18, at 9 a.m. at ILHS. All friends of ILHS are welcome. The hope is to get many members of the Class of 1969 (first class to graduate from the new ILHS) and the Class of 1970 (first class to spend a whole year in the building). Staff members from the era are invited. Spread the word to classmates and RSVP to 937-686-8601 or stanleyp@ils-k12.org by Jan. 17. There will also be recognition at the home Boys Basketball game the evening of Jan. 18. Those with ILHS memorabilia from 50 years ago are asked to share. Message this page or call. A display case from the era is being created with pictures, uniforms, books, etc.

This event celebrates 50 Years of ILHS, but is separate from the concert event at ILHS hosted by the Indian Lake Area Chamber of Commerce in March.
