The hallways of Indian Lake High School were filled with residents and families getting physically fit during the first night of Winter Walking.
More than 30 walkers signed in and made tracks around the building on Jan. 8.
The Glett family of DeGraff arrived with their one-year-old daughter, Natalie, in a stroller.
David Glett said, “It’s hard to go outside in this weather with the baby and get your heart rate up. We’ll be back!”
This is the second year that ILHS, Mary Rutan Hospital and the Bellefontaine Parks and Recreation have held the free walking program at ILHS on weeknights when the school is not hosting a home basketball game or wrestling meet.
The Winter Walking Program is open to the public. In addition, anyone who participates at least ten times through March will be eligible for prizes. School officials add Winter Walking will not take place if classes are cancelled for inclement weather. The times are 6 to 7:30 pm.
