On Sept. 24, the Riverside FFA Officer Team attended the Ohio FFA Legislative Leadership Conference at the Ohio State House in Columbus. Sen. Dave Burke spoke to FFA students about the future of agriculture, civic duty, leadership and participating in the political process. Ohio Department of Agriculture Director David Daniels spoke to FFA members about the future of agriculture and how it’s continually growing and changing.

Also at the conference FFA members learned how to influence their elected officials on agricultural issues through lobbying and politics and how decisions are influenced at the state house. Officers found it interesting thing to go to because they learned how the legislative branch works. FFA members simulated working through legislative bills with constituents and members from both house and senate
