The Indian Lake Middle School Volleyball Team will host a Pink Out during their home game against North Union on Wednesday, Sept. 26. There will be a bake sale, items for auction and more. The high school Volleyball JV and Varsity Teams will host a Pink Out during their home game against Urbana on Oct. 3. This will also include a bake sale, auction and more. Proceeds from both events will go to local women fighting breast cancer.

Russells Point Church of God, 432 state Route 708, will host its free annual Hog Roast and Concert on Sept. 29. The Hog Roast begins at 5:30 p.m. and is followed by a concert at 7 p.m. The artist this year is The Hyssongs, a Southern Gospel family that combines music, humor and brass instruments for a concert for all ages.

West Liberty United Methodist Church is once again offering Grief Support through GriefShare, a 13-week seminar and support group to help rebuild life after losing a loved one, offering help, encouragement and hope. Two session times are offered: Mondays at 10 a.m. Aug. 20 to Nov. 12; or Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 21 to Nov. 13. There is a $5 registration fee. The Logan County Farmers Market is open Saturdays 8:30 a.m.-noon May through September at the corner of Chillicothe and Detroit in downtown Bellefontaine. SNAP, Medicaid, WIC cardholders get extra $ for produce. Kids 5-12 get $2 in tokens for produce.

The Logan County Health District offers free HIV testing the third Monday of every month from 1:30 to 3 p.m. (starting June 18). Testing is confidential. The goal of this program is to prevent the spread of the HIV disease through education and testing.

Journey Christian Cancer Support meets 6:30-8 p.m. on the second Monday of each month at Quest Community Church, 110 South St., in West Liberty. It is free and the building is handicap accessible. Women who have experienced infertility or miscarriage, are undergoing fertility treatments, or are considering adoption are invited to a monthly support group that meets at Memorial Hospital. HOPE, an independent, peer-led, female-only support group provides an opportunity to share information, discuss sensitive issues, or just listen to others. Meetings are confidential, unbiased and planned to provide support and comfort. The Food Pantry of Wake Up the World Ministries is open the last Friday of each month from 4 to 6 p.m. to individuals and families in Logan County needing food and who qualify under the Second Harvest Food Bank criteria. The church is at the former Northeastern Elementary, 600 Brown Ave., Bellefontaine. Qualified individuals and families can secure three days of food, including veggies, meats and canned goods, by entering the church’s back entrance. The Logan County Art League holds an Open Studio 7-9 p.m. on the 2nd, 3rd and 4rh Monday of each month so people can bring in their visual arts projects to work on among like-minded artists. Try new things, gain direction, get encouragement and explore. It will be a safe place to share ideas and get inspiration. It is open to anyone in the arts, at any level, and in any media. There will be several experienced artists on hand to help, so beginners are welcome. Just bring your project and your supplies and join us. There is no cost.

The Indian Lake United Christian Services Food Pantry at the Municipal Building, 433 state Route 708, Russells Point, offers food assistance to all residents of the Indian Lake School District on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Thursdays of the month. The Food Pantry is staffed entirely by volunteers and operates solely with donated funds and food.

We take the following insurances: Anthem * Aetna * Medical Mutual and most Ohio Medicaid plans. Please bring all of your insurance cards and your child’s immunization card.

TB testing is done 8:30 a.m.-noon and 1:30-4 p.m.on Mondays and Tuesdays. The charge is $20 cash, or check with ID. Most Ohio Medicaid plans are accepted.
