The Indian Lake Class of 1968 is reclaiming its rightful place at Indian Lake High School.
Class members Mary Ann Parish and Diana Centers presented the Indian Lake Board of Education with a new class composite at the September regular meeting.
The composite is a reproduction of the original that is missing.
“Ours was ‘borrowed’ for a reunion, we think, and never returned,” Parish said. “So we wanted to fill in that hole between 1967 and 1969.”
The composite will be framed and included with the rest of the class composites that celebrate graduates of Indian Lake High School over the years. The Class of 1968 held its 50th year reunion a few weeks ago.
In other news from the September meeting, District Special Education Director Meaghen Tidwell gave the board an update on substantial progress. She says teachers across the district are embracing various “RTIs” or response to intervention strategies, which is helping special education students make immense progress.
Finally, District Treasurer Coleen Reprogle gave an appropriations update. She says the current year’s budget is about 2.6% greater than last year’s, accounting for increases in salaries and benefits. The board meets again October 15th at 6:30 pm.
