The Little Lakers Running Club Fun Run is off and running in its second year.

More than 125 first through sixth graders are taking part in this program designed to get young students interested in running.

“We had about 90 runners last year, and even more are coming this year. We’re very excited to get these kids in running shape!” said ILHS Cross Country Coach Kristen Glink.

Indian Lake Cross Country Coaches and runners facilitate the Running Club. Little Lakers stayed after school for the first time on Monday, September 17th. They were split into groups by grade level to play games and try an easy run. Coaches were careful to give students frequent rest periods and water breaks.

Running Club will meet from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, and Monday, Oct. 1. The Club will wrap up with a Little Laker Mile Fun Run at 6 pm on Monday, October 8th.
