The West Liberty United Methodist Church, 202 W. Newell St., will host GriefShare: Surviving the Holidays, a one-evening seminar for people facing the holidays after the loss of a loved one. This will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, at the church. The event is designed to provide ways to navigate through the holidays and will give practical tips, words of strength and encouragement, and suggestions to help you face and survive the unique stresses of the holiday season. West Liberty United Methodist Church offers Grief Support through a program called GriefShare, a weekly seminar and support group designed to help rebuild life after losing a loved one. The two session times offered are 10 a.m. Mondays starting Aug. 31 or 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays starting Sept. 1. There is a $5 registration fee. The group meets at the church, 202 W. The Indian Lake Area Historical Society will meet Monday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. at the Galilee Lutheran Church on Lincoln Blvd. in Russells Point. The speaker will be Kay Adams on the subject “The rise and fall of the Cherokee.” All are welcome.

Flu shots are available at the Logan County Health District during regular immunization clinics. These clinics are held every Thursday morning from 9-11 a.m. In addition on the first and third Thursday of the month there are late clinics available from 2-6 p.m.

The Logan County WIC has monthly breastfeeding classes at the Logan County Health District office. The classes are open to the public; you do not need to be on WIC to participate. The Champaign County Farmers Market, corner of East Market and Locust Street, just west of the Urbana municipal building/fire department, is open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays May-October. This is the place for locally grown fresh veggies and fruit.

The Logan County Art League holds an Open Studio 7-9 p.m. on the 2nd and 3rd Monday of each month so people can bring in their visual arts projects to work on among like-minded artists. Try new things, gain direction, get encouragement and explore. It will be a safe place to share ideas and get inspiration. It is open to anyone in the arts, at any level, and in any media. There will be several experienced artists on hand to help, so beginners are welcome. Just bring your project and your supplies and join us. There is no cost.

Logan/Champaign Counties Survivor of Suicide (SOS) Support Group for those bereaved by suicide will meet 6:30-8 p.m. the 2nd Thursday of each month at the MHDAS Board, 123 N. Detroit St., West Liberty, with topics and events planned for each month.
