Turkeyfoot Benefit Crew closes out another profitable year

Submitted Story

Thanks to the generosity of local businesses, residents and visitors to the Indian Lake region, the Turkeyfoot Benefit Crew raised over $46,000 this year to benefit Hospice. A donation of $11,500 was provided to each of the four hospice facilities in the surrounding are – Caring Hearts supporting the efforts of Universal Health & Hospice in Bellefontaine, Tri-County Hospice in Wapakoneta, Hardin County Hospice in Kenton, and The Wilson Memorial Foundation in Sidney.

This all-volunteer organization was established in 2000 and, to date, has raised more than $475,000 through annual fundraisers and monetary donations. All funds go directly to patient care; no funds are used for administrative purposes. Events for 2016 will once again include a bowling outing in February, parade and auction in June, and golf scramble in August. The Benefit Crew will also be raffling off a golf cart at the June auction. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the beginning of 2016.

The Benefit Crew looks forward to another successful year and new members are always welcome. Interested in getting involved with this worthy cause? Check them out on Facebook at Facebook/turkeyfootbenefitcrew.
