Logan County Republican Central Committee members voted to appoint long-time local accountant Fred Brentlinger as auditor of the city of Bellefontaine on Aug. 8. He replaces Jack Reser, who was appointed Logan County auditor in July. Brentlinger has owned his own firm, Brentlinger and Associates Inc. in Bellefontaine, since 1993. He is a Logan County native who serves on the Bellefontaine Joint Recreation District Board, the Myeerah Nature Preserve Management Group and the Bellefontaine Planning Commission. He served one term on the Bellefontaine City Schools Board of Education and has volunteered as treasurer for several Bellefontaine City Schools levy campaigns. Brentlinger will serve the remainder of Reser’s term and be on the primary ballot for the office in May 2019. Local accountant Rebecca Wilkins of Wilkins Accounting Solutions, LLC in Bellefontaine also presented to the committee members. She also plans to run for City Auditor in the May 2019 primary election.

Candidate for Ohio Supreme Court Craig Baldwin, candidate for Ohio 83rd House District Jon Cross and candidate for Logan County Commission Paul Benedetti also spoke to the Logan County Central and Executive Committee during the Aug. 8 meeting.
