Summer fun continues at the lake

More hot times are coming soon to the coolest lake in America. If you thought you’ve already had a blast this summer at the lake, well hold tight, the fun is really just starting to heat up.

Indian Lake is a very unique and special place for having a great time. It’s sorta like a “cottage industry” of fun. The local Chamber of Commerce and community organizers just keep churning it out like there’s no tomorrow. And if you’re a lake goer, tourist or someone who just likes to have fun, then you’re really in luck.

At the lake this summer, organizers have already dazzled visitors with boat shows, car shows, craft shows, talent shows, festivals, fireworks, bike rides, running races, swimming parties, a fishing derby, charity event parties, local bands, beauty contests, tractor pulls, reptile shows and more. The list goes on and on.

Hold on though, just like a football game that has two halves and a halftime, the fun at Indian Lake is only at the halfway point of the season and is now just embarking of the second half of events, which kicked off this past weekend with the popular “Putt Around the Lake” contest.

Next up, it’s the “Vintage Wooden Boat Show” from July 19-21, and then the “Light up the Lake” Boat Parade on July 28, part of the Christmas in July event.

August kicks off with the 23rd Annual Indian Lake Catfish Tournament on August 2-5 and then it’s the “Harborfest Nightmoves 5K Run” on Aug. 3, followed by “Harborfest” on Aug. 4.

The fun keeps rockin’ and rolling with the huge “Rock the Lake” outdoor concert August 3-5. Keep your mojo going with the “Rock the Lake” Triathlon on August 4.

The party continues on August 11 at Old Field Beach with the very popular and huge “Party at the Beach” event. On the 18, they’ll be making music at the lake with the Nashville Hitmakers Concert and the summertime fun wraps up with the popular annual tradition called “Ring of Fire” on September 3.

So if you’ve already missed some of the fun at Indian Lake this summer, don’t fret. Man, they’re just getting the party started.

It’s still summertime!

Sweet summertime.
