LAKEVIEW — When you think of a Tractor Pull, the first things that come to mind are big ol’ tractors, ginormous engines and the big boys that ride them.

At the Lakeview Car and Craft Show’s Kiddie Tractor Pull event, it was a little different story. The tractors were a lot smaller, the engines where tiny, the drivers where little kids and one of the winners was a girl.

Joelle Houchins, age 10, from Bellefontaine took first place in the age 9-10 class.

“This was the last year I could do it and I got first place,” said Houchins. “I’ve been competing for four years.”

Other winners at the event were Piper Schindewolf of Quincy in the age 3-4 class, Henry Bensman of Sidney in the age 5-6 class and Ryder Brown of Grover Hill in the age 7-8 class.

Other young competitors who placed second or third at the event in their respective class, include; Ryder Howard of Lakeview, Oliver Bensman of Sidney, Jayce Oakley of Lakeview, Bentley Grube of Lakeview, Carter Grube of Lakeview, Kyle Bensman of Sidney, Cole Schindewolf of Quincy and Riley Brown of Grove Hill.

This was a NKTPA sanctioned event and a part of the National Kiddie Tractor Pullers Association national circuit of competitions.
