The Indian Lake Local School community said best wishes and best of luck to their seniors during a May 20 graduation ceremony.
Class President Tatum Reprogle recapped their school careers, reminding her classmates of all the challenges they faced, including shifting graduation requirements, PARCC tests and more. She said, “Those changes gave us exactly the skills we will need when we walk out this door.”
Senior Christina Bowen got the honor of introducing commencement speaker and local youth pastor Ashley Sloan.
Sloan proclaimed, “The world is waiting on you and desperately needs the skills and talent you carry.”
Sloan then named off every member of the graduating class and asked them to stand saying, “The world needs all you!”
As they were standing, Sloan took a picture of the group. And, after receiving their diplomas, Sloan presented each graduate with a unique key to remind them to unlock their potential.
She said, “When you feel like giving up, grab your key and remember the entire Indian Lake community is rooting for you!”
Valedictorians representing the Class of 2018 are Terrin Bok, Christina Bowen, Gianna Hagedorn, Tatum Reprogle, Spencer Wolf and Delaney Woods. Mollie Swygart earned Salutatorian, while Jade Lynn Lewis, MaryAnn Wahl and Kevin McLane rounded out the top ten.
Superintendent Rob Underwood and Board Members presented diplomas to approximately 120 Seniors.
