Indian Lake Elementary School is exceeding expectation when it comes to student growth in a year.
District 1 State Board of Education member Linda Haycock presented ILES Co-Principal Molly Hall and Indian Lake Superintendent Rob Underwood with a 2017 Momentum Award during a stop on May 17.
ILES Co-Principal Molly Hall says her staff is honored to receive this award.
“We feel that this award is a direct reflection of the commitment to quality instruction and our passion for children. Our staff has worked very hard over the last several years to improve our response to intervention program, apply formative instructional practices and assist our students in becoming assessment capable learners. We are extremely proud of our entire staff and students!”
Haycock joined Hall and Underwood for a tour of the elementary school. She was impressed with the school’s unique features, including the Laker Zone positive behavior program and the ILES Clothes Closet.
Any Ohio school or district is eligible for the Momentum Award if it receives straight A’s on all Value-Added measures on the report card. The school or district must have at least two Value-Added subgroups of students, which include gifted, lowest 20 percent in achievement and students with disabilities.
