Calvary Christian will host a color run to benefit student aid on May 5 at 10 a.m. at Southview Park. This color blast 5K is for all ages! In this untimed event, participants will be blasted with color as they run, walk or skip through the course. An after-race color party will include music, concessions and a massive color throw. Each participant determines his/her entry fee, with all donations going toward student aid at CCS. Register at Eventbrite.com. Same day registration will be cash only.

Journey Christian Cancer Support meets 6:30-8 p.m. on the second Monday of each month at Quest Community Church, 110 South St., in West Liberty. It is free and the building is handicap accessible. Long-time cancer survivors, current cancer patients and their caregivers are invited. This is a community event sponsored by the church. A table of books and resources are available to use. Rich and Karla Kensey, both cancer patients, along with Kelli Stoner, an oncology nurse, are the co-founders of the group and the facilitators. At the next meeting on May 14, Ilene James of the Cancer Association of Champaign County and Jane Riggs of the Logan County Cancer Society will speak.

On Sunday, April 29, the annual Blessing of the Bikes will be performed at Lewistown-Trinity UMC in Lewistown, two miles south of Indian Lake. It starts with a full breakfast at 10:45 a.m., followed by a special Worship Service at 11:30 a.m., followed by the Blessing of the Bikes (both motorized and pedal) at 12:30 p.m. Next is the “Grace” Run progressive lunch. Participants leave Lewistown and travel to Hopewell UMC, to Rushsylvania UMC, to Belle Center UMC, and finish up lunch at Lewistown-Trinity UMC. 100% of all donations go to the Logan County Homeless Shelter. Huntsville and Indian Lake Youth and Indian Lake Middle School Club Soccer Sign-Ups are Wednesday, May 2, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.; Saturday, May 5, from 10:30 a.m. to noon and Tuesday, May 8, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. All sign-ups are in the Indian Lake Elementary cafeteria. First year players, birth year cutoff is 2013 (age 5) to register. Payment is due upon registration. Please bring a copy of child’s birth certificate. Huntsville Only: Due to time constraints with placing the uniform orders, these will be the only dates for sign-ups this year. We will be wearing the same uniforms as last season. We will order uniforms for players as needed.

Entry fee is $10 and all donations go to CCS student aid. Each participant kit includes entry intothe race and a T-shirt. First 100 registrants receive a free color powder packet to be used at the color party. The start line will open at 10 a.m. Come early for the pre-race party with music and fun. Logan County Libraries – Ask-a-Librarian – A librarian will be available to answer computer questions a day each month through December.

April dates are: Thursday, April 26 | 1:30-2:30 p.m. DeGraff Branch.

Perennial Swap at the Knowlton Library, Saturday, May 12. Swap will begin promptly at 11:05 am. Please have items labeled and at the parking north of the Library at 11 am. If raining the swap will be held in the AcuSport Community Room inside the Library. Perennial are not limited to flowers and participants may swap for equal numbers of items brought to the swap.

Need a tax form from the IRS or State of Ohio or RITA or one of the other forms? Using your Library card, log on to Computer Express 15 and automatically opens to a page with tabs for all of the tax websites. Select the tab you need. Find the form you need. Send to the Print Release Station. Pay 20 cents per page. Release the print job. Pick up the form at the printer station. Questions? Ask a Reference Assistant. Book Club, For A Brew Generation – Books on Tap! Women who have experienced infertility or miscarriage, are undergoing fertility treatments, or are considering adoption are invited to a monthly support group that meets at Memorial Hospital. HOPE, an independent, peer-led, female-only support group provides an opportunity to share information, discuss sensitive issues, or just listen to others. Meetings are confidential, unbiased and planned to provide support and comfort. Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month from 7 to 9 p.m. in Meeting Room E at Memorial Hospital, 500 London Ave. in Marysville (use entrance E). The Food Pantry of Wake Up the World Ministries is open the last Friday of each month from 4 to 6 p.m. to individuals and families in Logan County needing food and who qualify under the Second Harvest Food Bank criteria. The church is at the former Northeastern Elementary, 600 Brown Ave., Bellefontaine. Qualified individuals and families can secure three days of food, including veggies, meats and canned goods, by entering the church’s back entrance. Overeaters Anonymous meets at 10 a.m. each Monday at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 1505 S. Main St., in Bellefontaine. This meeting is open to anyone who wants to stop eating compulsively. The Logan County Art League holds an Open Studio 7-9 p.m. on the 2nd, 3rd and 4rh Monday of each month so people can bring in their visual arts projects to work on among like-minded artists. Try new things, gain direction, get encouragement and explore. It will be a safe place to share ideas and get inspiration. It is open to anyone in the arts, at any level, and in any media. There will be several experienced artists on hand to help, so beginners are welcome. Just bring your project and your supplies and join us. There is no cost.

Logan/Champaign Counties Survivor of Suicide (SOS) Support Group for those bereaved by suicide will meet 6:30-8 p.m. the 2nd Thursday of each month at the MHDAS Board, 123 N. Detroit St., West Liberty, with topics and events planned for each month.

The Indian Lake United Christian Services Food Pantry at the Municipal Building, 433 state Route 708, Russells Point, offers food assistance to all residents of the Indian Lake School District on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Thursdays of the month. The Food Pantry is staffed entirely by volunteers and operates solely with donated funds and food.

The Logan County Health District is offering flu shots for all ages during the regular Immunization Clinics every Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. and the 1st Thursday of the month from 2 to 6 p.m. Most insurances are accepted.

TB testing is done 8:30 a.m.-noon and 1:30-4 p.m.on Mondays and Tuesdays. The charge is $20 cash, or check with ID. Most Ohio Medicaid plans are accepted.
