The community came out to support the West Liberty-Salem Athletic Association at the March 17 Reverse Raffle. Many opportunities were given to donate toward the Tiger Strong Field House: a silent auction, board and raffle games, door prizes and the live auction. Door prizes included cook books and table decorations. The event was catered by the Farmer’s Daughter in Urbana.
Todd Woodruff was the auctioneer for the live auction and many items were available for auction. A Florida vacation home10 day stay (ended up selling two!) a three day Cumberland Lake Condo stay, OSU Quilt and WLS Quilt, Dragons package and many more. This fundraising event will help WLS have a 12,000 square foot facility that will house a gymnasium, weight room, floating indoor running track, and an indoor training room. To honor and remember the hero’s of the January 20, 2017 School shooting a special Honor Room will be included for them.
A local business pledged $250,000, the WLS Athletic Association pledged $100,000 and Logan Cole donated $25,000. $495,000 is still being raised through fundraisers like the Reverse Raffle, and generous donations from the community.
