New activities at the Knowlton Library include Beginning Woodcarving – carving a walking stick. Learn to carve a walking stick and have a finished project to take home. The Logan County Board of Developmental Disabilities Foundation is holding its 28th annual Chicken Bar-B-Q on Thursday, Oct. 8. From 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., the famous Port-A-Pit crew ½ chickens, applesauce, chips, roll with butter and a gourmet cookie will be served for $8. Past members of the Indian Lake Marching Band are invited to take the field once again in the annual Alumni Band Performance at the Indian Lake High School Homecoming Football game on Friday, Sept. 25, at 7:30 p.m. Former members of the band will perform with the Marching Lakers during the pregame show and be recognized for their participation. They are also encouraged to stay in the bandstands for the game and help cheer the team to victory against the Tipp City Red Devils. West Liberty United Methodist Church offers Grief Support through a program called GriefShare, a weekly seminar and support group designed to help rebuild life after losing a loved one. The two session times offered are 10 a.m. Mondays starting Aug. 31 or 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays starting Sept. 1. There is a $5 registration fee. The group meets at the church, 202 W. The church will hold its annual Fall Bazaar and Bake Shop 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, at the church, 202 W. Newell St. A homemade lunch menu will be served at the bazaar, and items for take-out will be available. All proceeds will be donated to Hi-Point Women’s Center in Bellefontaine and Sycamore House in Urbana.

The Logan County Art League holds an Open Studio 7-9 p.m. on the 2nd and 3rd Monday of each month so people can bring in their visual arts projects to work on among like-minded artists. Try new things, gain direction, get encouragement and explore. It will be a safe place to share ideas and get inspiration. It is open to anyone in the arts, at any level, and in any media. There will be several experienced artists on hand to help, so beginners are welcome. Just bring your project and your supplies and join us. There is no cost.

Logan/Champaign Counties Survivor of Suicide (SOS) Support Group for those bereaved by suicide will meet 6:30-8 p.m. the 2nd Thursday of each month at the MHDAS Board, 123 N. Detroit St., West Liberty, with topics and events planned for each month.

The Indian Lake United Christian Services Food Pantry at the Municipal Building, 433 state Route 708, Russells Point, offers food assistance to all residents of the Indian Lake School District on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Thursdays of the month. The Food Pantry is staffed entirely by volunteers and operates solely with donated funds and food.
