Mary Rutan Hospital announced the addition of general surgeon Dr. David Giammar to the medical staff and surgery department. He is the fourth general surgeon to join the Mary Rutan Hospital General Surgery practice.
Giammar graduated Summa Cum Laude from Kent State University, received his MD from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, Rootstown, and completed his residency in general surgery at Riverside Methodist Hospital and a fellowship in colorectal surgery at Grant Medical Center.
“We are pleased to have Dr. Giammar join our surgical team,” said Dr. Grant Varian, medical director at Mary Rutan Hospital. “He is a very experienced board certified general surgeon with advanced certifications in colon and rectal surgery, as well as being fellowship trained in surgical critical care and trauma.”
Mary Rutan Hospital continues to experience growth across many of its service lines. The addition of a fourth general surgeon in the community will help ensure full-time coverage for the increasing surgeries being performed at Mary Rutan Hospital.
He joins Dr. Larry Morris, Dr. Anthony Beisler and Dr. Rafael Ruggieri of Mary Rutan Hospital General Surgery, located at 2160 Ewing Crawfis Circle, in the Ambulatory Care Center in Bellefontaine.
