The West Liberty Salem Big Orange Cross Country team will host its annual 5K Alumni Run Tuesday, September 22nd, 6:15 p.m. at the Ohio Caverns. The race will be immediately following the Ohio Caverns Max Evans Memorial Invitational high school races. The entry fee is $5 and runners can register on race day. The West Liberty Salem Big Orange Cross Country team will host its annual One Mile Elementary Fun Run Tuesday, September 15th, 6:00 p.m. at the Ohio Caverns. The race is open to all area PreK-6th grade runners. The entry fee is $5 which includes a t-shirt. Green Hills is celebrating its 40 years with a bake sale. West Liberty wanted to build a “senior citizen village” and what started with $2,232 at a bake sale is the Green Hills of today. To celebrate, a mega bake sale will be held 1-5 p.m. Sept. 16, with a 5:30 p.m. auction to follow. All proceeds will go to programs for the residents that enhance their physical, social, spiritual and intellectual wellness. Those who would like to bake something for the bake sale, auction or both are asked to call 937-465-5065.

West Liberty United Methodist Church offers Grief Support through a program called GriefShare, a weekly seminar and support group designed to help rebuild life after losing a loved one. The two session times offered are 10 a.m. Mondays starting Aug. 31 or 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays starting Sept. 1. There is a $5 registration fee. The group meets at the church, 202 W. The DeGraff Country Fair is being held Aug. 27-29. Events once again will include a Bake Sale Auction. The 5th annual Bake Sale Auction will be on Saturday, Aug 29, at 3 p.m. (or after parade) at the Stage. Bring pies, cakes, cookies, jelly or any other homemade item to be auctioned. Take home ½ the money your item is auctioned for; the other half goes to the DCF for future fairs. Cash will be paid at the end of the auction. Take items to the DCF office beside Orphan Annie’s starting at noon Saturday, Aug 29.

The Logan County Art League holds an Open Studio 7-9 p.m. on the 2nd and 3rd Monday of each month so people can bring in their visual arts projects to work on among like-minded artists. Try new things, gain direction, get encouragement and explore. It will be a safe place to share ideas and get inspiration. It is open to anyone in the arts, at any level, and in any media. There will be several experienced artists on hand to help, so beginners are welcome. Just bring your project and your supplies and join us. There is no cost.
