It is hard to believe it has been 10 years since the Indian Lake Area Chamber of Commerce took on the new venture of Party at the Beach. The first year was almost a disaster, but it was a great learning experience as the chamber was the first ever the state Of Ohio had allowed a Liquor License for a state property. Member of the Board of Directors and volunteers built the first stage by hand and former state park manager Frank Giannaola stood on it and said, “Build It and They Will Come.” Well, the first year fell a little short on that as only 900 people including volunteers showed up for the party. The first years band was the Danger Brothers and they thought more people would come.

The second year was a little better as the Danger Brothers once again played along with the Faucets from Waynesfield. We were trying to make it like Put In Bay and have bands that played in there. The second year was more successful as the third year once again was Danger Brothers and Midnight Rider.

In 2010 the chamber tried to make it more like a Parrot Head Party as we brought in Parrots of the Caribbean and the Danger Brothers.

With the help of a friend (chamber member) a dream came true in 2011 as someone donated the money to bring the Cowsills to Indian Lake to sing the Indian Lake Song. Lots of people came to see them play along with the Indoorfins and the Menus. Although the our Indian Lake was not the lake in the song the Cowsills said it was all fictional to them, they didn’t even realize there was a real Indian Lake, but loved it here as they sang out over the water.

2012 and 2013 brought the Danger Brothers back along with the Menus. The Menus brought the crowd as over 2,000 people attended both year.

2014 brought two different bands, and different they are as Reaganomics plays more oldies and Mustang Sally is a Country Band. The crowd loved the changed as over 2700 people attended the Party at the Beach.

In 2015 the date of the Party at the Beach is August 15th. Being the 10th Anniversary the chamber will be bringing in two big stages, lots of beach balls and balloons and the line up is really special with three bands. Naked Karate Girls we be playing at noon followed by Mustang Sally at 3 p.m. and Reaganomics at 6 p.m. D J service will be by Ron Perky before the bands begin. Gates will open this year at Old Field Beach at 10 a.m. You can get presale tickets for only $10.00 at Pizzeria, Framing By Fuller, Community Market, The Landing III, Winners Market. Presale tickets will be closed at 7 p.m. on Friday night, August 14. After that you must pay full price of $15.00 at the gate. You can also come by boat to enjoy the Party as there will be a boat entrance in the water. Once you get a wrist band you are free to come as go as you please. No coolers are allowed on Old Field that day and you must have proper ID for the consumption of alcohol.

Sponsors for this years event are: RV Wholesalers, Rudolph Foods, Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken, Ohio Ready Mix, Longview Cove, D P & L, Zimmerman Realty, Heartland of Indian Lake and Bellefontaine, Community Markets, Bud’s Marine. Beer Tent Sponsors are Brothers Bar and Grill and Indian Head Road House. Whitmore House will be catering to one of the bands and Lee’s Chicken the others.
