Adults are invited to the Indian Lake High School auditorium on Dec. 13, at 7 p.m. to hear nationally recognized social media expert Katie Greer. Attendees will learn what youths are doing with and seeing on social media and learn answers to the following questions: Our kids are doing WHAT? What can I do to protect them? What apps should I be worried about? Is social networking safe? Is my child being cyberbullied? What’s texting? Sexting? What’s next?

It’s often overwhelming being a parent today in our technology-driven society. Keeping up with the latest trends and dangers can often seem like an impossible task. Katie will help you navigate the digital waters. She is a Former Intelligence Analyst with the Massachusetts State Police, Former Director of Internet Safety for the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, Advisory Board Member of the Internet Keep Safe Coalition, and a ModernMom Contributor.

She’s been recognized as a national expert in Internet/digital safety and technology, advising various governmental and private agencies, and featured in USA Today, TIME Magazine, Good Housekeeping, Proctor and Gamble Everyday, on The O’Reilly Factor, and CNN. She has presented to hundreds of thousands of students, parents, educators and administrators.

This presentation is a service of the family engagement component of Indian Lake High School’s 21st Century grant. Greer will be speaking to high school and middle school students during the day as well.
