The first Laker Zone Assembly of the year at Indian Lake Elementary School focused on behaving in the cafeteria. Staff members say even students who are well-behaved in the classroom sometimes forget how to act in the cafeteria, so they made a video to demonstrate proper lunchroom etiquette.

Some fourth grade students also presented examples of how to remain in the Laker Zone at lunch.

The Laker Zone is a long-time grant program that encourages students to help others, resist bullying and be hard workers in the classroom. One person per class was awarded a Laker Zone shirt for being “in the zone” for the first nine weeks.

Students receiving T-shirts are:

•Kindergarten –Kirk Beres, Makayle Clary, Emmitt Wischmeyer, Abigail Johnson, Nixon Lillard, Olive Butler and Tyler Jaskon.

•First Grade – Gunnar Strickland, Hayes Henry, Randi Doyle, Nicole Lin, Braden Tussing, Vivian Marshall and Diem Martin.

•Second Grade – Crew McPherson, Gary Hutton, Terra Beltz, Brady Golliday, Summer Champ, Alaina Hershberger and Dylan Clem.

•Fourth Grade – Laila Lynch, Caleb Altstaetter, Abigail Elliott, Reece Shepherd, Breannah Sawmiller, Kendahl Stanley, Eive Peterman
