The Indian Lake Schools staff recently turned out to support one of their own.

Indian Lake Middle School hosted a “Shop to Support” event to raise money for long-time teacher Jean Newmeyer to help with out-of-pocket medical expenses. Newmeyer was diagnosed with an aggressive sarcoma late this summer and is still undergoing treatment.

Staff from all over the district, parents and the general public shopped at the event that featured products from LuLaRoe, Thirty-One Gifts, Scentsy, Touchstone Crystal by Swarovski and more. There were also several raffle items donated by Indian Lake clubs, local businesses, local artists and more. Monetary and gift card donations were also accepted. Organizer Morissa Sweeney says the event raised about $1,000.
