BELLEFONTAINE – Ohio Hi-Point will be renovating and adding onto one of its buildings in the near future.
The Ohio Hi-Point board approved a bid and awarded the contract for the work to LeVeck Commercial Construction and Development LLC of Columbus at its Oct. 19 work session.
The $690,490 total bid covers the renovation and addition, including flooring, roof extension and new roof, and new insulation. The work is on Building D, which was used as the Adult Education building in years past, Ohio Hi-Point Communications Coordinator Jessie Behnke said. The building will be used as the new Animal Sciences Building, and will have a new back room added.
The board and superintendent felt comfortable awarding the bid as the company has done similar work for other schools, Behnke added.
Work is hoped to begin on the addition before winter, so that inside work can be done during the colder months, Behnke said. The project is being paid for out of renovation money the board approved previously for Superintendent Dr. Rick Smith to use for the five-year improvement and renovation plan.
