Indian Lake National Honor Society members tapped 25 potential inductees during the annual “tapping” ceremony. Current members explained to the entire student body the qualities of Scholarship, Character, Leadership and Service that a student must exemplify to be considered for the society. Then members weaved their way through the auditorium to tap unsuspecting juniors and seniors one by one as their lists of accomplishments are read.
Beyond having a 3.3 grade point average, Indian Lake students must be involved in music, sports, service clubs or other service activities to be considered, plus complete an application and essay. Teachers, other instructors and club advisors make the final selections based on qualities of Scholarship, Character, Leadership and Service.
This year’s inductees are Delaney Woods, Christina Bowen, MaryAnn Wahl, Morgan Coppel, Terrin Bok, Darrian Dorsey, Alena Babyak, Mollie Swygart, Anjel Dukowitz, Melanie Watkins, Tatum Reprogle, Hannah Avila, Kacie Bush, Libby Cotterman, Olivia Amspaugh, Hanna Hogue, Tylor Burt, Kaleb Vance, Tommy Meek, Nikolas Vance, Justin Young, James Toda, Collin Coburn, Kale Shoffner and Abbygail Dolan.
The group will officially be inducted into National Honor Society during the Logan County NHS Banquet at Indian Lake Schools on the evening of October 25th. The ILHS NHS Club meets the first Wednesday of every month.
