Come out to the Aug. 27-29 DeGraff Country Fair for good food, great friends and lots of fun. This year there is once again a full schedule of rides, entertainment and contests. Entry forms are available at Regency Homes, Hair We Go Salon & Tanning in Quincy, Thackerville Hill, The DeGraff Creamery and The Village Chameleon. Cutest Baby and Toddler Contest

Entry Forms Due Aug. 22

Do you think you have a little one with the cutest little baby face? Do you live in the Riverside School district or are a Riverside graduate? Then dig out your best photos and send them in for the cutest baby & toddler contest for the De Graff Country Fair! Age categories are newborn to 1 year old and 1 year to less than 3 years old as of August 29, 2015. All participants will receive a prize and winners will receive $50 in cash.

Calling all Logan County photographers! Take your best shot in the 2015 De Graff Country Fair Photo Contest! Entries must be dropped off in-person at the Municipal Building, 107 South Main Street, De Graff, Ohio 43318 on Wednesday, August 26, from 5 pm to 8 pm and/or on Thursday, August 27, from 9 am to 5 pm. Photographers may submit only one original photo per class which has never been entered into another contest. All photographs will be judged professionally. Ribbons will be awarded with a $50 cash prize for Best in Show for adult entries. Youth participants will receive prizes.

Adult photographers will submit photos as an 8 x 10 with Matte. Categories are: Black & White; Love; Old & New; Barns; and 4 x 6 Selfie.

Youth photographers (12 years of age and younger) are asked to submit a 5 x 7 with Matte with the theme: Water.

Horticulture Contest

Ready, set, grow! The De Graff Country Fair will be hosting a Horticulture Best in Show contest open to all Logan County residents on Thursday, August 27, 2015. Entries should be taken to the Horticulture tent in downtown De Graff before 6 pm on the day of the contest for judging at 7 pm.

Calling all pageant queens and kings between the ages of 4 and 12, are you ready to strut your stuff? Well then bring on the bling and don your best duds on the main stage for the De Graff Country Fair pageant on Thursday, August 27, at 6:30 pm. An adorable prince and princess, aged 4-7, and sophisticated king and queen, aged 8-12, will be crowned in all their majesty in front of an adoring crowd. Meet and greet the people of your kingdom during the De Graff Country Fair amid an expanse of food, fun, and games while wearing your sash and crown of recognition. Come by carriage or steed – a vehicle if you please – but get to the fair and be the most charming pair!

This event is being held during the 2015 De Graff Country Fair, so bring the whole gang and shop ‘til you drop, eat ‘til you’re beat, and ride until you’re ready to pull out a dauber and chips and start covering your board!

There is no better way to spend a Saturday morning than on a brisk path through some of the most beautiful country and small town streets in Ohio! Pull on your sneakers and lace them tight! It is time for the 2nd Annual De Graff Country Fair 5K Run hosted by the Riverside Cross Country Team on Saturday, August 29, 2015, at 8 am. Same-day registration ($15) begins at 7 am and does not include a T-Shirt. Pre-registration ($20), which includes a t-shirt, must be postmarked by August 18. Race day T-Shirts may be purchased on the day of the event for $10 each. Registration payments by check should be made out to De Graff Country Fair. They may be dropped off at Regency Homes Realtors, 119 North Main Street, De Graff, OH 43318 – or – mailed to DCF – 5K, P.O. Box 418, De Graff, OH 43318.

Prizes will be awarded immediately following the race for the top male and female. All participants will be automatically entered into the Saturday evening De Graff Country Fair prize raffle. Participants who are under the age of 18 years must have a release form completed by a parent or guardian.

Pet & Bike Parade with Top of Ohio Pet Shelter

It’s time to put your creative helmets on! The De Graff Country fair will be hosting their annual pet & bike parade on Saturday, August 29, 2015, at 10:30 am. Bike riders are invited to decorate their bikes and show off their stupendous cycling skills. Every year the bikes get more creative and elaborate. Some are even completed with rider costumes. Just imagine riding along on your icicle bike as Queen Elsa or transforming your bike into a stallion while you stride atop in western wear. The possibilities are endless. This is your chance to shine! Bring along your canine or other leashed companion and let them strut their stuff as onlookers applaud their good behavior. The Top of Ohio Pet Shelter will be on hand so you can meet some of the cutest furry friends one can adopt.

The parade line up begins at 10 am at the De Graff Post office. Participating children must be 4 – 10 years old and be either a Riverside elementary school student or the child of a Riverside Alumni member.

2nd Annual De Graff Fire Department Cornhole Tournament

So, you think you have what it takes to be a great cornhole champion? Well, grab a friend and head out to the 2nd annual De Graff Fire Department Cornhole Tournament. This year’s tournament will be held at noon on Saturday, August 29, in front of the De Graff Fire Department with registration beginning at 11 am. This is a double elimination tournament with a $30 entry fee per team. The winning team will take home half of the funds raised by entering teams. So, dust off your corn bags, pull out your boards, and start practicing because this year will be even bigger and better than last year. Come and show off your golden sombrero!

Spaghetti Eating Contest Sponsored by Gangster’s Ristorante

It is time to get your grub on with Spaghetti Eating Contests sponsored by Gangster’s Ristorante – arguably serving the best pasta and Italian cuisine around – at the De Graff Country Fair on Saturday, August 29. You will have a change to register for any of three contests, each with a new twist, at the fair. Contests will be held at 12 pm, 12:45 pm, and 1:30 pm. Space is limited, so be sure to sign up while you are enjoying the rides, entertainment, and many booths at the fair! While you are there, be sure to check out Gangster’s Ristorante which is decorated in fanciful Speak Easy style, complete with authentic memorabilia from the era of the mobster!

Floats, sirens, and balloons, oh my! Come and watch the parade pass by! The De Graff Country Fair Parade will be lining up at 12 pm and beginning their march at 2 pm which will begin at Riverside Local Schools, located at 2096 County Road 24 South, De Graff, OH 43318. Bring your blankets or chairs and cheer on your favorite business, organization, or favorite public figures all while you sway to the tantalizing tunes of the Riverside Marching Band!

Awards will be given for the Best Fire Department/EMS, Best Decorated Float, Best Overall, and Best All-Around Entry.

5th Annual Bake Sale Auction

Whether you have a sweet tooth or bake for those who do, join us at the 5th Annual Baked Goods Auction at the De Graff Country Fair on Saturday, August 29, 2015, at the main stage around 3 pm after the parade. Half of the proceeds from the auction will sustain future De Graff Country Fairs and the remaining funds will be contributed to the amazing bakers. Bakers should bring their items to the DCF office beside Orphan Annie’s beginning at noon on the day of the auction, then return to the office after the auction to collect your portion of the proceeds.

De Graff, Ohio, is home to some of the most extraordinary bakers who make some of the most scrumptious things we have ever eaten! Maybe it is the country living or perhaps Pirate Pride, but either way we know to come with our wallets full and our belts loosened. Come and join us as we will out bellies with the goodness that the De Graff Country Fair Baked Goods Auction has come to be known for!

Should you be on America’s Got Talent, The Voice, or So You Think You Can Dance? Do you love to perform? Then come see us at the De Graff Country Fair on Saturday, August 29, at 4:30 pm for our annual talent show hosted by J & S.

Cash and trophies will be awarded to the top 3 acts in the under 12, ages 13-17, and 18 years and over categories. Please be sure your act is wholesome without inappropriate language or content. If you are under 18 years old, your parents must sign a release form.
