The DeGraff Country Fair is being held Aug. 27-29. Events once again will include a Bake Sale Auction. The 5th annual Bake Sale Auction will be on Saturday, Aug 29, at 3 p.m. (or after parade) at the Stage. Bring pies, cakes, cookies, jelly or any other homemade item to be auctioned. Take home ½ the money your item is auctioned for; the other half goes to the DCF for future fairs. Cash will be paid at the end of the auction. Take items to the DCF office beside Orphan Annie’s starting at noon Saturday, Aug 29.

The Turkeyfoot Benefit Crew will host the annual Golf Scramble at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22, at the Prairie View Golf Course. Cost is $50 per person, which includes cart, greens fee, dinner and prizes. Contact the golf course at 419-568-7888 to register a team. Individuals registered for the initial May date of the event must call Prairie View to re-register. Hole sponsorships are available by calling Marcia Linch at 937-760-5253. Proceeds benefit four hospice facilities in the surrounding Indian Lake counties.

The Indian Lake Area Historical Society will celebrate its birthday at 7 p.m. July 20 in the tent on the Taco Bell side of the Bridge in Russells Point. The Mad River Valley Dulcimers will perform and ice cream and cake will be served. All are welcome to celebrate the group’s 12 years of existence and view the progress on the Sandy Beach Bridge.

The Young at Heart Senior Center in Lakeview will be the site of a Boy Scout Eagle Project by Troop 96 of Upper Arlington. From 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 18, scouts from Troop 96, under the guidance of RC Brandes, will replace ceiling tiles in the Senior Center. The Young at Heart Center, 490 W. Lake St., is a non-profit charitable organization open to seniors daily.

Miami Grange in DeGraff will host a pancake-sausage breakfast from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 18. The cost is $6 for adults and $2.50 for children.

The August Pancake Breakfast will be held in conjunction with the DeGraff County Fair. It will be 7:30-11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29.

Soccer sign-ups for Huntsville and Indian Lake will be at Indian Lake Elementary. Bring a copy of your child’s birth certificate. Children must be 5 by Aug. 1, 2015, to play. Payment is due at sign-ups. Huntsville won’t accept sign-ups in July, as was done in past years. Players will have the same uniforms as last year. Indian Lake Only: Last day for sign-ups will be Aug. 1.

The Logan County Art League holds an Open Studio 7-9 p.m. on the 2nd and 3rd Monday of each month so people can bring in their visual arts projects to work on among like-minded artists. Try new things, gain direction, get encouragement and explore. It will be a safe place to share ideas and get inspiration. It is open to anyone in the arts, at any level, and in any media. There will be several experienced artists on hand to help, so beginners are welcome. Just bring your project and your supplies and join us. There is no cost.

Logan/Champaign Counties Survivor of Suicide (SOS) Support Group for those bereaved by suicide will meet 6:30-8 p.m. the 2nd Thursday of each month at the MHDAS Board, 123 N. Detroit St., West Liberty, with topics and events planned for each month.

The Indian Lake United Christian Services Food Pantry at the Municipal Building, 433 state Route 708, Russells Point, offers food assistance to all residents of the Indian Lake School District on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Thursdays of the month. The Food Pantry is staffed entirely by volunteers and operates solely with donated funds and food.
