Victoria Muchiri Children’s Foundation’s 2nd annual 5K Walk/Run to benefit the VGM orphanage in Kenya will be held Saturday, July 30, with registration at 8:30 a.m. and walk/run at 9 a.m. at Lions Park in West Liberty. The Ohio Department of Transportation announced the following projects in Logan County:

*U.S. Route 33 between county Roads 57 and 540 – 24-hour lane closures through Sept. 30. One lane will remain open in each direction.

*District-wide chip and seal project on Logan state Route 287; Champaign state Routes 29 and 245 and 559; and Clark state Route 41. Various lane closures through Sept. 30 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. One lane will remain open for travel in each direction through the use of flaggers.

The West Liberty United Church of Christ, United Methodist and United Presbyterian churches are collectively offeringVacation Bible School 6-8:30 p.m. Monday, July 25-Friday, July 29, at the United Methodist Church, 202 W. Newell St. This year’s theme is “Cave Quest- Following Jesus the Light of the World.” All children age 3 (potty trained unless a parent stays) through those who just completed 6th grade are welcome. Newell St., offers Grief Support through a program called GriefShare, a weekly seminar and support group designed to help rebuild lives after losing a loved one, offering help, encouragement and hope. The Logan County Art League holds an Open Studio 7-9 p.m. on the 2nd and 3rd Monday of each month so people can bring in their visual arts projects to work on among like-minded artists. Try new things, gain direction, get encouragement and explore. It will be a safe place to share ideas and get inspiration. It is open to anyone in the arts, at any level, and in any media. There will be several experienced artists on hand to help, so beginners are welcome. Just bring your project and your supplies and join us. There is no cost.

Logan/Champaign Counties Survivor of Suicide (SOS) Support Group for those bereaved by suicide will meet 6:30-8 p.m. the 2nd Thursday of each month at the MHDAS Board, 123 N. Detroit St., West Liberty, with topics and events planned for each month.

The Logan County Health District Office, 310 S. Main St., Bellefontaine, is open 8:30 a.m.-noon and 1:30 to 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday; and 8:30 a.m. to noon Friday. Hours have been reduced due to budget cuts. WIC hours are not affected. For more information, call 937-651-6186.

Flu shots for all ages are available 9-11 a.m. each Thursday and 2-6 p.m. the first and Thursday of each month. Most insurances are accepted. Call 937-651-6186 to register.

The Logan County WIC has monthly breastfeeding classes at the Logan County Health District office. The classes are open to the public; you do not need to be on WIC to participate. The class is designed for anyone thinking about breastfeeding to help determine the right choice for themselves and their baby. For more information call the health district at 937-651-6191.

TB testing is done 8:30 a.m.-noon and 1:30-4 p.m.on Mondays and Tuesdays. The charge is $20 cash, or check with ID.
