Driving for more than two years from St. Henry to Zanesfield to hunt, Doug and Mark Bruns passed the Ohio Lumber Company on Route 117 in Huntsville both coming and going. As told by Cole Lewis, an advertising manager for Ohio Lumber LLC, they stopped in to see if the business was for sale. It was and, this spring, they bought it from owners Scott and Dave Duff.

The Bruns own five other lumber yards in Piqua, Versailles, Findlay, DeCatur, and St, Henry. The yards are full service yards, but the Bruns have been specializing in designing, selling and installing pole barn packages for 32 years. “We’re making changes to expand our services,” says Lewis. Examples include a drive-through pick-up service and a larger onsite inventory. Two additional employees have also been added to the staff.

Custom designed buildings with up to 90-foot wood trusses or 200-foot steel spans are available. “We can work with both individual customers and commercial companies,” says Lewis. “You can build it yourself, or we can provide the labor as well.” In the two months since the lumber yard was purchased, about 40 quotes have been given out in the Indian Lake area.
