The April 26 Huntsville Village Council meeting was called to order by Mayor William H. Jenkins with the following members answering roll call: Deb Anderson, Robin Jenkins, Brenda Jenkins, Margaret Frazier and Jean Cotterman. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as read. Robin Jenkins made a motion to pay bills, Margaret Frazier seconded the motion, all concurred on roll call. Visitors for the evening were Joe Hurley, James Beaver and Renae Beaver.
Joe Hurley attended the council meeting with a request to fill the council seat vacated by Lori Fisher, who is now village clerk. Robin Jenkins nominated Joe to fill the vacant seat and Jean Cotterman seconded the motion. All concurred on roll call. Joe was sworn in by Mayor Jenkins.
James and Renae Beaver were here to apply for conditional use permit. They have purchased property at 4802 St. Rt. 274 W and wish to tear down the house on the property and put up a 3 bay garage for automotive repair. The Clerk will contact the Zoning Board and schedule a Public Hearing regarding the request.
Mayor Jenkins attended the Logan County Mayors Meeting and informed council that DeGraff is going to have training for the Ohio Sunshine Law and anyone interested should attend.
He also told council that the United Way is having a Community Care Day on August 10, 2016. They are looking for volunteers that will help organize projects for social service agencies and area parks.
Deb Anderson motioned that council approve the Logan County Solid Waste District Plan, all concurred.
Tim Jenkins, Street Superintendent informed council that the Toro mower was in need of repairs. Council approved the repairs.
There was a request for a sign on the village office door, Tim Jenkins will take care of this.
Council also wants to remind everyone that Village Clean-up begins Monday, May 16th and ends Friday May 20th at noon. Nothing will be picked up after noon on Friday.
