Logan County students recognized for academic excellence

The 2016 Academic Achievement Breakfast, sponsored by Honda of America, Mfg. Inc. and Transportation Research Center Inc., was held April 22 at Honda Heritage Center & Museum.

More than 200 students from Bellefontaine, Benjamin Logan, Indian Lake and Riverside high schools and Ohio Hi-Point Career Center in over 25 disciplines were recognized for their academic excellence.

Lynn Johnson, Coordinator of Corporate Affairs, of Honda of America, greeted students. Bill Ramsey, Senior Staff Administrator of Honda of America Mfg., Inc., welcomed students and guests. He spoke to the students about 5 core concepts: Dream, Joy, Challenging Spirit, Passion and Respect.

Benjamin Logan High School Principal Mark Butler introduced the guest speaker, Robert Fawcett, retired Intervention Specialist and coach for Benjamin Logan schools. He told students they were in control of their attitude and their effort. He spoke to students about being accountable, handling adversity and raising others up.

The breakfast is coordinated by the Midwest Regional Educational Service Center in conjunction with area high school guidance counselors.
