Russells Point area residents wishing to have free 10-year sealed photo-electric smoke detectors installed in their homes Saturday, April 23, by volunteers of the Red Cross and Indian Joint Fire District can make appointments by calling the Russells Point Municipal Building at 937-843-2245, ext. 5, or dropping by the village office 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday. This is a project of the Red Cross, which advises replacing detectors 6 to 10 years old because sensors can become clogged with dust. Even if batteries are replaced, an older detector may not detect fire or smoke.

Ohio Hi-Point Career Center graduation is at 6:30 p.m. May 25 outside at the career center in Bellefontaine. If there is bad weather, the graduation will move to the Bellefontaine High School gymnasium.

Calvary Christian High School presents “Medium Rare,” a comedy about a very special problem encountered by new homeowners. The production will be on Friday, May 6, and Saturday, May 7, at 7:30 p.m. A dinner served by the cast is also available on Friday beginning at 6 p.m., with the show following. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students. Tickets for the dinner and the show combined are $12 for adults and $8 for students. The show on Friday night is open for those who do not attend dinner as well. Tickets may be purchased at the door for the play and dinner, or may be reserved in advance by calling the school office at (937)599-4775.

“Hoops at the Lake” returns to Indian Lake Local Schools June 13-16. The camp for boys will focus on fundamentals of basketball, including shooting, dribbling, passing, rebounding and defense along with team concepts, sportsmanship and more. Each session will be filled with fast-paced activities that players of all ages can enjoy. Boys entering grades 4 through 8 will be Indian Lake High School 8 a.m.-noon. The cost for older boys is $50. Boys entering grades 1 through 3 will come to Indian Lake Elementary School from 1 to 3 pm. Their cost is $30. Huntsville and Indian Lake (Lakeview) Youth Fall Soccer Sign-ups will be held in the Indian Lake Elementary School Cafeteria on the following dates: Monday, May 2, 6-7:30 p.m.; Thursday, May 5, 6-7:30 p.m.; Saturday, May 7, 9 a.m.-noon. Players must be 5 by Aug. 1, 2016, to be eligible to play. Payment is due at registration. Please bring a copy of your child’s birth certificate. The season will begin July 25th. The Logan County Health District is sponsoring a Childhood Dental Clinic (ages 0-18) made possible with staffing and equipment provided through the Smile Programs Mobile Dentist. Appointments are being scheduled now by calling 937-651-6197. This clinic will be held on Friday, June 3 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Union Station, 613 Hamilton St., Bellefontaine. Educational materials are provided through the Delta Dental Foundation/Brighter Futures Community Grant. Clinic supplies provided by Mary Rutan Hospital and Logan County Health District.

The Logan County Health District announced that an Adult Dental Clinic for Logan County residents over 19 years of age will be provided 8 a.m.-2 p.m. May 11 at Robson Family Dentistry, 216 E. Sandusky Ave., Bellefontaine. Checkups will include an exam, cleaning and x-rays. Emergency care will not be provided, and pain prescriptions will not be written. For appointments, call 937-651-6197. Insurance/medical cards will be accepted. No one will be turned away for inability to pay. Kirkmont Back To Basics Day is set for 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, June 4, at the Kirkmont Center of Zanesfield. Family members of all ages are welcome to Kirkmont’s 278 acres of wooded countryside for a day of back-to-basics interpretation and entertainment. The day will include guided hikes, self-led hiking and exploring, interpretive presentations, arts-and-crafts, a scavenger hunt, and an appearance from Creek Stewart of Willow Haven outdoors, host of The Weather Channel’s Fat Guys in the Woods and consultant for Backpacker Magazine. Newell St., offers Grief Support through a program called GriefShare, a weekly seminar and support group designed to help rebuild lives after losing a loved one, offering help, encouragement and hope. The Logan County Art League holds an Open Studio 7-9 p.m. on the 2nd and 3rd Monday of each month so people can bring in their visual arts projects to work on among like-minded artists. Try new things, gain direction, get encouragement and explore. It will be a safe place to share ideas and get inspiration. It is open to anyone in the arts, at any level, and in any media. There will be several experienced artists on hand to help, so beginners are welcome. Just bring your project and your supplies and join us. There is no cost.

Logan/Champaign Counties Survivor of Suicide (SOS) Support Group for those bereaved by suicide will meet 6:30-8 p.m. the 2nd Thursday of each month at the MHDAS Board, 123 N. Detroit St., West Liberty, with topics and events planned for each month.

The Indian Lake United Christian Services Food Pantry at the Municipal Building, 433 state Route 708, Russells Point, offers food assistance to all residents of the Indian Lake School District on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Thursdays of the month. The Food Pantry is staffed entirely by volunteers and operates solely with donated funds and food.

The Logan County Health District Office, 310 S. Main St., Bellefontaine, is open 8:30 a.m.-noon and 1:30 to 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday; and 8:30 a.m. to noon Friday. Hours have been reduced due to budget cuts. WIC hours are not affected. For more information, call 937-651-6186.

Flu shots for all ages are available 9-11 a.m. each Thursday and 2-6 p.m. the first and Thursday of each month. Most insurances are accepted. Call 937-651-6186 to register.

The Logan County WIC has monthly breastfeeding classes at the Logan County Health District office. The classes are open to the public; you do not need to be on WIC to participate. The class is designed for anyone thinking about breastfeeding to help determine the right choice for themselves and their baby. For more information call the health district at 937-651-6191.

TB testing is done 8:30 a.m.-noon and 1:30-4 p.m.on Mondays and Tuesdays. The charge is $20 cash, or check with ID.
