Indian Lake musicians fare well at contest

Several Indian Lake Middle School musicians and vocalists performed well the weekend of April 16-17 at the OMEA District 11 Solo and Ensemble contest held at Bellefontaine High School.

Receiving “Superior” ratings for instrumental solos were:

Kayli Barlow (Melodic Percussion), Tyler Fauley (Trumpet), Alli Knapp (Melodic Percussion), Chloe Laing (Clarinet), Nikita Scheifele (Alto Saxophone) Carson Shepherd (Alto Saxophone), Haley Shields (Flute), Hayli Ullom (Clarinet) and Reid Notestine (Piano).

Receiving “Excellent” ratings for instrumental solos were:

Ethan Coppel (Trombone), Ella Wagner (Piano) and Jessica Evans (Clarinet).

Receiving “Superior” ratings for vocal solos were: McKenzie Lewis and Nicolette Dague.

Receiving “Excellent” rating for vocal solos were: Abagail Dague, Brittany Sturms and Isabelle Young.

Two vocal ensemble groups received Superior ratings. They were the group of Raelyn Parsell, Ella Wagner, McKenzee Lewis, Macey Taylor, Isabelle Young, and Katie Barlow, along with the group of Kaya Campbell, Alexis Stroud, Hayli Hamilton, Arden Miller, Brittany Sturms and Catherine Thomas.
