Kirkmont Back To Basics Day is set for 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, June 4, at the Kirkmont Center of Zanefield. Family members of all ages are welcome to Kirkmont’s 278 acres of wooded countryside for a day of back-to-basics interpretation and entertainment. The day will include guided hikes, self-led hiking and exploring, interpretive presentations, arts-and-crafts, a scavenger hunt, and an appearance from Creek Stewart of Willow Haven outdoors, host of The Weather Channel’s Fat Guys in the Woods and consultant for Backpacker Magazine. Overeaters Anonymous meets at 10 a.m. each Monday at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 1505 S. Main St., in Bellefontaine. This meeting is open to anyone who wants to stop eating compulsively. Newell St., offers Grief Support through a program called GriefShare, a weekly seminar and support group designed to help rebuild lives after losing a loved one, offering help, encouragement and hope. The second annual Indian Lake fourth, fifth and sixth grade Boys Basketball Tournament will be held March 18-20, at the Indian Lake High School, Middle School and Elementary School gymnasiums, 6210 N. state Route 235, Lewistown, OH 43333. Tournament spots are on a first-come, first-served basis. The cost is $175 per team, with three games guaranteed. Only school teams please, no all-star or AAU teams. The Father/Daughter Dance will be held on Saturday, Feb. 27, at Indian Lake Elementary School from 4 to 6 p.m. This year’s theme is “Flower Power.” This event is for young ladies who attend Indian Lake Elementary School and want to spend an enchanted evening with their their dad, grandfather, step-dad, uncle or other appropriate father figure. The cost is $5 per person, with a cap of $20 for a family. There will be dancing, snacks, crafts and fun. Photos will also be available at no charge. The Father/Daughter Dance is an annual event sponsored by the ILHS Junior class as a fundraiser for Prom.

Give your pop can an extra twist and pull together for kids who are hospitalized. The Indian Lake National Honor Society is collecting pop tabs and soup can tabs for the Ronald McDonald House in Columbus. This is a joint effort among the NHS chapters of Indian Lake, Benjamin Logan and Riverside High Schools. Tabs can be dropped off or sent with a student to any Indian Lake school building. Just look for the little Ronald McDonald houses. Collections continue through April 28. Other collections sites include the Honda Anna Engine plant, Midwest Express, Airstream and Mary Rutan Hospital.

The Logan County Art League holds an Open Studio 7-9 p.m. on the 2nd and 3rd Monday of each month so people can bring in their visual arts projects to work on among like-minded artists. Try new things, gain direction, get encouragement and explore. It will be a safe place to share ideas and get inspiration. It is open to anyone in the arts, at any level, and in any media. There will be several experienced artists on hand to help, so beginners are welcome. Just bring your project and your supplies and join us. There is no cost.

Logan/Champaign Counties Survivor of Suicide (SOS) Support Group for those bereaved by suicide will meet 6:30-8 p.m. the 2nd Thursday of each month at the MHDAS Board, 123 N. Detroit St., West Liberty, with topics and events planned for each month.

The Indian Lake United Christian Services Food Pantry at the Municipal Building, 433 state Route 708, Russells Point, offers food assistance to all residents of the Indian Lake School District on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Thursdays of the month. The Food Pantry is staffed entirely by volunteers and operates solely with donated funds and food.

The Logan County Health District Office, 310 S. Main St., Bellefontaine, is open 8:30 a.m.-noon and 1:30 to 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday; and 8:30 a.m. to noon Friday. Hours have been reduced due to budget cuts. WIC hours are not affected. For more information, call 937-651-6186.

Flu shots for all ages are available 9-11 a.m. each Thursday and 2-6 p.m. the first and Thursday of each month. Most insurances are accepted. Call 937-651-6186 to register.

The Logan County WIC has monthly breastfeeding classes at the Logan County Health District office. The classes are open to the public; you do not need to be on WIC to participate. The class is designed for anyone thinking about breastfeeding to help determine the right choice for themselves and their baby. For more information call the health district at 937-651-6191.

TB testing is done 8:30 a.m.-noon and 1:30-4 p.m.on Mondays and Tuesdays. The charge is $20 cash, or check with ID.
