The Lakeview mayor called the June 16 meeting to order and led the council in the Pledge of Allegiance. The roll call was read and everyone answered the roll.
The minutes of the last meeting were approved as written. A motion was made by Frank Dietz to pay the bills and seconded by Eric Barhorst. All voted yes. The motion passed.
A motion was made by Traci Snyder and seconded by Dennis Harford to transfer $2,483.02 into the Elevated Tank Fund and $2,896.72 into the Water Treatment Plant Fund from the CIWA Fund for May balancing. All voted yes and the motion passed.
The mayor presented Ordinance No. 2015-08 for first reading, which is amending Ordinance No. 91-13 to add an additional .5 percent income tax to provide funds for the purpose of constructing a new fire station in the village. A motion was made by Frank Dietz and seconded by Traci Snyder to approve the Ordinance. All voted yes and the motion passed for the first reading.
Connor Kinsey advised council that the closing on the acquisition of the school property should be on around the next meeting.
Traci Snyder reported all the grills had been installed at Emil Davis Park and one bench is up. She also presented a flier to Council that will be distributed to residents supporting the .5% levy for the new fire department.
Eric Barhorst announced that Durnell’s is not interested in leasing our property.
The Village Administrator and the Fire Chief was absent from the meeting.
The Fiscal Officer read off the new zoning permits that had been issued. She also gave Council an update on the website. The new website should be ready to proof next week with all content included. The Fiscal Officer also announced the first tax delinquent case has been filed with the court and more will follow. She also announced that the Village Administrator had hired Matthew Golden for the new laborer position effective June 5, 2015. His salary will be $10.00 per hour to start with a $.50 raise in 90 days and another $.50 raise in six months. Frank Dietz made a motion to hire Matt Golden at that rate and Molly Cook seconded the motion. All voted yes and the motion passed.
A motion was made to adjourn by Molly Cook and seconded by Eric Barhorst. All voted yes and the meeting adjourned.
The next meeting will be July 6th at 7:30 p.m. in Council Chambers.
