The Indian Lake Elementary School Clothes Closet will be able to restock mid-year thanks to the continuing efforts of Huntsville Presbyterian Church. Pastor Ben Beres presented ILES Guidance Counselor Suzy Mallory with a check for more than $450 dollars. The money comes from the annual HPC Cookie Walk held in December. The event was created by educator Peggy Nordquist, who often worked as a substitute at Indian Lake Schools during her retirement. Nordquist passed away three years ago, but Cookie Walk organizers continue to donate to the ILES Clothes Closet in her name. Mallory says the money is much appreciated and will be used to restock the closet with pants, shoes and school supplies.

The closet is set up in the ILES Guidance room so students who damage or soil their clothes during school can find a replacement without loss of class time. In addition, students in need of supplies, coats or other clothes may visit the closet to get what they need.
