Newell St., offers Grief Support through a program called GriefShare, a weekly seminar and support group designed to help rebuild lives after losing a loved one, offering help, encouragement and hope. Mt. Tabor Church of God will hold a Revival Meeting Wednesday, January 27, 2016 through Sunday, January 31, 2016. The public is invited. Services will be held Sunday at 9:30 AM and 6 PM and Saturday night at 6 PM.

The remainder of the Revival services will be held nightly at 7 PM. During each service, the church choir sings and evangelist John Green delivers a message. He is the pastor of the Church of God at Harmon’s Branch near Iaeger, West Virginia.

What’s on your mind? The 2016 presidential election? The omnibus spending bill recently passed by Congress? Terrorism? The national debt? The jobs market? Immigration? The refugee situation? Crony capitalism? The Second Amendment and Gun control? The Top of Ohio Patriots will host an open forum Thursday, January 14, 2016, at 7 p.m. at the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center, to discuss such matters in a civil discourse. This forum is an opportunity to simply get together to talk about the issues, to engage with our fellow citizens in an effort to better understand one another’s concerns, fears and interests. Note that the date of the meeting has changed to the second Thursday of each month in 2016. The time and site of the meeting remains the same.

The Ohio Department of Transportation proposes to replace the bridge carrying state Route 235 over Blackhawk Run in Stokes Township. The project will require a right of way, including from Island View Park and Ohio Department of Natural Resources lands associated with Indian Lake State Park. As part of the Ohio Means Jobs 21st Century Grant, Indian Lake High School and the Midwest Regional Educational Service Center present The Parent Project. The program is designed to help parents and guardians of teens parent without arguing, manage teenage behavior problems and engage in a support system with parents who are facing similar challenges.

The Parent Project class will meet 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14 in the Indian Lake High School Media Center. There will a section for parents focusing on strategies to deal with your teen. Meeting at the same time will be a section for teens focusing on position decision making.

The second annual Indian Lake fourth, fifth and sixth grade Boys Basketball Tournament will be held March 18-20, at the Indian Lake High School, Middle School and Elementary School gymnasiums, 6210 N. state Route 235, Lewistown, OH 43333. Tournament spots are on a first-come, first-served basis. The cost is $175 per team, with three games guaranteed. Only school teams please, no all-star or AAU teams. The West Liberty-Salem Athletic Hall of Fame Committee has announced the 2016 induction class. Inductees will be former coach Linda Sparks, athlete Nathan Bratka and the 1977-78 undefeated football team. The induction weekend is Feb 5-6, with a short recognition at the boys basketball game on Feb. 5 and the formal induction banquet Feb. 6. The Logan County Art League holds an Open Studio 7-9 p.m. on the 2nd and 3rd Monday of each month so people can bring in their visual arts projects to work on among like-minded artists. Try new things, gain direction, get encouragement and explore. It will be a safe place to share ideas and get inspiration. It is open to anyone in the arts, at any level, and in any media. There will be several experienced artists on hand to help, so beginners are welcome. Just bring your project and your supplies and join us. There is no cost.

Logan/Champaign Counties Survivor of Suicide (SOS) Support Group for those bereaved by suicide will meet 6:30-8 p.m. the 2nd Thursday of each month at the MHDAS Board, 123 N. Detroit St., West Liberty, with topics and events planned for each month.

The Indian Lake United Christian Services Food Pantry at the Municipal Building, 433 state Route 708, Russells Point, offers food assistance to all residents of the Indian Lake School District on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Thursdays of the month. The Food Pantry is staffed entirely by volunteers and operates solely with donated funds and food.

The Logan County Health District Office, 310 S. Main St., Bellefontaine, is open 8:30 a.m.-noon and 1:30 to 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday; and 8:30 a.m. to noon Friday. Hours have been reduced due to budget cuts. WIC hours are not affected. For more information, call 937-651-6186.

The Logan County WIC has monthly breastfeeding classes at the Logan County Health District office. The classes are open to the public; you do not need to be on WIC to participate. The class is designed for anyone thinking about breastfeeding to help determine the right choice for themselves and their baby. For more information call the health district at 937-651-6191.

TB testing is done 8:30 a.m.-noon and 1:30-4 p.m.on Mondays and Tuesdays. The charge is $20 cash, or check with ID.
