Ohio Hi-Point will be adding some land to its current property at the Bellefontaine campus.
Ohio Hi-Point’s school board approved the purchase of 2.818 acres of vacant land at the intersection of state Route 540 and Sloan Boulevard at its December meeting. The land, owned previously by Bell Hankins Realty Group, is surrounded by Ohio Hi-Point, and was the only parcel the school district did not own, Superintendent Rick Smith said.
The district purchased the parcel for $215,000, Treasurer Eric Adelsberger said. The dollars came from the district’s general fund.
There are currently no plans to use the property, but it is available for future programming, Smith said. The school board chose to purchase it to ensure that nothing moved in that did not suit the school district.
Ohio Hi-Point Career Center provides education to high school juniors and seniors from 14 partner school districts. It offers more than 30 career training programs.
