What’s on your mind? The 2016 presidential election? The omnibus spending bill recently passed by Congress? Terrorism? The national debt? The jobs market? Immigration? The refugee situation? Crony capitalism? The Second Amendment and Gun control? The Top of Ohio Patriots will host an open forum Thursday, January 14, 2016, at 7 p.m. at the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center, to discuss such matters in a civil discourse. This forum is an opportunity to simply get together to talk about the issues, to engage with our fellow citizens in an effort to better understand one another’s concerns, fears and interests. Note that the date of the meeting has changed to the second Thursday of each month in 2016. The time and site of the meeting remains the same.

The Ohio Department of Transportation proposes to replace the bridge carrying state Route 235 over Blackhawk Run in Stokes Township. The project will require a right of way, including from Island View Park and Ohio Department of Natural Resources lands associated with Indian Lake State Park. The Logan County Art League holds an Open Studio 7-9 p.m. on the 2nd and 3rd Monday of each month so people can bring in their visual arts projects to work on among like-minded artists. Try new things, gain direction, get encouragement and explore. It will be a safe place to share ideas and get inspiration. It is open to anyone in the arts, at any level, and in any media. There will be several experienced artists on hand to help, so beginners are welcome. Just bring your project and your supplies and join us. There is no cost.

Logan/Champaign Counties Survivor of Suicide (SOS) Support Group for those bereaved by suicide will meet 6:30-8 p.m. the 2nd Thursday of each month at the MHDAS Board, 123 N. Detroit St., West Liberty, with topics and events planned for each month.

Gloryland Ministries is accepting donations of gently-loved stuffed animals, holiday decorations, books (especially children’s), sewing items, craft items and kits, old neckties, small office supplies, school supplies for kids, small household decorations, collectibles, puzzles and board games with all pieces, wheelchairs, walkers, canes, bath chairs. The Logan County Health District Office, 310 S. Main St., Bellefontaine, is open 8:30 a.m.-noon and 1:30 to 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday; and 8:30 a.m. to noon Friday. Hours have been reduced due to budget cuts. WIC hours are not affected. For more information, call 937-651-6186.

Flu shots for all ages are available 9-11 a.m. each Thursday and 2-6 p.m. the first and third Thursdays of each month. Most insurances are accepted. Call 937-651-6186 to register.

The Logan County WIC has monthly breastfeeding classes at the Logan County Health District office. The classes are open to the public; you do not need to be on WIC to participate.
