The Ohio Department of Transportation proposes to replace the bridge carrying state Route 235 over Blackhawk Run in Stokes Township. The project will require a right of way, including from Island View Park and Ohio Department of Natural Resources lands associated with Indian Lake State Park. Issues the public may wish to comment on include, but are not limited to, the effect of the project on local residents, air quality, the local economy, and historic or cultural resources. The sixth annual Liberty Half Marathon will take place at 9 a.m. Jan. 1. Online registration is available on RunSignUp. The race entry fee is $30 plus processing fee. T-shirts are available for all runners. The race will start at Marie’s Candies in West Liberty and finish at Reliant Mechanical Inc. in East Liberty. Flu shots are available at the Logan County Health District during regular immunization clinics. These clinics are held every Thursday morning from 9-11 a.m. In addition on the first and third Thursday of the month there are late clinics available from 2-6 p.m. Please call 937-651-6186 for further information and to register for your flu shot.

The Logan County WIC has monthly breastfeeding classes at the Logan County Health District office. The classes are open to the public; you do not need to be on WIC to participate. The class is designed for anyone thinking about breastfeeding to help determine the right choice for themselves and their baby. For more information call the health district at 937-651-6191.

The Logan County Art League holds an Open Studio 7-9 p.m. on the 2nd and 3rd Monday of each month so people can bring in their visual arts projects to work on among like-minded artists. Try new things, gain direction, get encouragement and explore. It will be a safe place to share ideas and get inspiration. It is open to anyone in the arts, at any level, and in any media. There will be several experienced artists on hand to help, so beginners are welcome. Just bring your project and your supplies and join us. There is no cost.

Logan/Champaign Counties Survivor of Suicide (SOS) Support Group for those bereaved by suicide will meet 6:30-8 p.m. the 2nd Thursday of each month at the MHDAS Board, 123 N. Detroit St., West Liberty, with topics and events planned for each month.
