Indian Lake Middle School Youth Leadership students are learning how working up a sweat can help you let go of stress. Judy Vito from Judy’s Jazzercise recently led the group in a workout during the second session of Youth Leadership training this school year. During the activity, Vito told the students how important it is to exercise daily as a way of relieving or even preventing stress. The group also practiced relaxation techniques and other tools for taking control of and handling stress.
ILMS Youth Leadership consists of 10 7th grade students and 10 8th graders. The Midwest Regional Educational Service Center brings in community leaders to work with Youth Leaders three times throughout the school year. This is the 17th year this program has been offered to middle school students in Logan County. Dozens of local businesses help sponsor the effort.
