Calvary Christian Spartans make school history


The Calvary Christian Spartans varsity soccer team earned an OCSAA state final 4 appearance for the first time in school history with a 7-0 victory over Ohio Valley from Gallipolis. The Spartans entered the game on an 18 day layoff but showed no signs of rust. Within 10 minutes of the opening kick, the Spartans were up 4-0 and extended that to 5-0 entering halftime. The Spartans possessed the ball well in the second half and ended the game with a 7-0 victory. Leading the Spartans in scoring was freshman Josh Kilgore with 4 goals. Sophomore Tyler Reinhard added 2 in limited playing time, and junior Clayton Slemmons scored one to round out the scoring. Adding assists for CCS were senior Alex McGillis (2), Clayton Slemmons, senior Maddie Mcgillis, and sophomore Andrew Reinhard (2).
