The Logan County Health District is sponsoring a Dental Clinic (for children ages 0-18 years of age) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16 at Union Station, 612 Hamilton St., Bellefontaine. The clinic is made possible with staffing and equipment provided through the Smile Programs Mobile Dentist. Appointments are being scheduled by calling: 937-651-6188.

Educational materials are provided through the Delta Dental Foundation/Brighter Futures Community Grant. Clinic supplies provided by Mary Rutan Hospital and Logan County Health District.

Flu shots are available at the Logan County Health District during regular immunization clinics. These clinics are held every Thursday morning from 9-11 a.m. In addition on the first and third Thursday of the month there are late clinics available from 2-6 p.m.

Contested races and issues on the Nov. 3 ballot will be debated at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15, in the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center auditorium. Logan County voters are invited to the non-partisan program. Contested mayoral races in Russells Point and Bellefontaine, contested races for the Bellefontaine City Council and spokespersons for and against the legalization of marijuana in Ohio will debate both local and state issues. Representatives for the Logan County Health District operating levy and local issues on the ballot have also been invited to speak.

The Logan County WIC has monthly breastfeeding classes at the Logan County Health District office. The classes are open to the public; you do not need to be on WIC to participate. West Liberty United Methodist Church offers Grief Support through a program called GriefShare, a weekly seminar and support group designed to help rebuild life after losing a loved one. The two session times offered are 10 a.m. Mondays starting Aug. 31 or 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays starting Sept. 1. There is a $5 registration fee. The group meets at the church, 202 W. The Logan County Art League holds an Open Studio 7-9 p.m. on the 2nd and 3rd Monday of each month so people can bring in their visual arts projects to work on among like-minded artists. Try new things, gain direction, get encouragement and explore. It will be a safe place to share ideas and get inspiration. It is open to anyone in the arts, at any level, and in any media. There will be several experienced artists on hand to help, so beginners are welcome. Just bring your project and your supplies and join us. There is no cost.
